If his busy traveling schedule werent enough, he also works as a Billboard Reporter.
In the studio, Jamie has built a very successful career lending his remixing skills to many of todays hottest dance floor artists. In 2009 alone, many of Jamies remixes hit the Billboard Dance Charts (80s pop idol Tiffany doing Higher Kristine Ws The Boss Taylor Daynes Im Not Featuring You to name a few). He has also been commissioned to remix for labels including Columbia, Motown, Superchumbo's Chumbo Mundo, Tommy Boy Records, Junior Vasquez Music and Peter Rauhofers Star 69 Records as well as Portuguese underground label Meridua Recordings, UK label Essence Records and DJ Paulos Pure Music Recordings.
Jamie J began his DJ career while employed at Phoenix, Arizona hit music station, KKFR Power 92. As a promotions assistant, he would sneak into the radio station after hours and steal the stations DJ equipment. After setting up the equipment in his bedroom, Jamie would spend the entire weekend spinning records and making mixtapes for his friends. Come late Sunday night, he would sneak back into the radio station and return the equipment. This went on for several months until Jamies big break came when the station asked Jamie to help produce a new weekend on-air dance mixshow, Power Tools.
In 1995, Jamie packed up and moved to San Francisco where he quickly began DJing at many of the citys hottest clubs. In 1997, a chance meeting with Club Universe owner Audrey Joseph gave him the chance of a lifetime. After a guest DJ spot at the famed San Francisco mega-club, Jamie was named head resident DJ of Universe where he DJd until the legendary club closed in 2001.
In 2001, Jamie moved to London and began DJing throughout the UK and Europe for clubs including Heaven and Salvation. While living in London, he also DJd in Ibiza, Greece, France, Amsterdam and South Africa as well as returning frequently to play throughout America. It was also during this time that he began his longtime residency for XM Satellite Radios BPM Channel 81. For over 5 years, Jamie produced a weekly hour-long mixshow on XM Radio.
